Export & eDiscovery
How Agency packages and shares content while staying zero-knowledge.
Smart PDF Conversion
- Pre-renders PDFs, Office/ODF docs, spreadsheets, presentations, EPUB, and images (OCR) into page images for consistent viewing.
- Text/markup/code and tabular files are converted client-side into formatted PDFs.
- Emails (
.eml,.msg) and email archives (.pst,.mbox) are rendered with headers, attachments list, and body content; calendar items become.icsentries. - Archives (
.zip,.tar,.tgz,.7z,.csv.gz,.seq.gz) are decompressed first, then each member follows the same rules.
PDF Bundle Export ("Deposition Binder")
- Combines selected documents into a single PDF bundle.
- Auto-generates a
00_Table_of_Contents.pdfwith page links. - Ideal for depositions, interviews, and review binders.
Load File Export (.DAT)
- Generates Concordance/Relativity-compatible metadata exports.
- Includes filename, filepath, dates, author, SHA-256 hash, and tags.
- Supports downstream legal/eDiscovery workflows.
Encrypted Export
- Creates encrypted bundles with no plaintext filenames.
- Protect with a passphrase; recipients import locally to decrypt.
Share Links (Cloud-Enabled)
- Password-protected, time-limited links with allowed emails/domains and download limits.
- Works with App-Managed storage or BYOS; content and filenames stay encrypted.
Chain of Custody (Planned UI)
- Backend designed for forensic-grade audit exports (PDF/CSV) including SHA-256 hashes and integrity checksums.
- Frontend UI planned; see roadmap for status.
Practical Notes
- Large bundles: exporting many files or long PDFs takes time; watch progress before closing the app.
- Filenames in encrypted exports remain protected; table of contents uses safe labels.
- .DAT exports match Concordance/Relativity expectations (paths, hashes, tags); verify timezone settings before delivery.
- Re-run OCR on poor scans before exporting to improve PDF/Bundle quality.
